Texte du corps du produit
One of the most interesting trees to plant when you want to attract some of the wild life that normally prefers places not frequented by humans is the Safoutier known scientifically as "Dacryodes edulis". Bees and butterflies, hummingbirds and orioles find there a shelter and a food to live up to their expectations.
The safoutier is a tropical and equatorial African tree that produces a fruit whose name is safou. In everyday French this fruit is called "plum" but this is a wrong name widely used in Cameroon for example. Just like in Gabon, where it is specifically called "Atanga".
There are several varieties of safoutiers, and we can distinguish them by the variety of colors from one fruit to another, from light pink to navy blue, sky blue and purple. The Safou contains a nucleus and its flesh is often fatty.
